Why should I study Accountancy?

Accountancy equips you with the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to assess the performance of all types of business organisations. It will enable you to effectively analyse and evaluate financial data so that you can make judgements, decisions and recommendations about how businesses can manage their financial affairs.

What will I study?

You will learn about accounting including double entry bookkeeping, income statements and balance sheets of sole traders and limited companies. You will gain an in-depth understanding of management accounting, budgetary controls and the impact of technology on accounting.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is 100% examination.

Entry Requirements

5 Full Course GCSEs at grade A*- C including English Language and Mathematics at grade 4 or above.
To study this subject alongside a BTEC Pathway a minimum GCSE grade 6 in Mathematics is required.
