Ashton on Mersey School Sixth Form received outstanding results again this year. The school achieved 100% pass rate for the third consecutive year, with 64% at A * – C and 30% at A* – B. Every BTEC student also passed their qualification with nearly half the cohort receiving the highest possible grades. In addition to this all AS students achieved 100% passes in their qualifications which is a solid foundation for them moving in to their A2 year. Director of Sixth Form Kate Baddeley said “We are so proud of our students. The dedication they show to achieve their very best, going beyond what is expected of them is exemplary. They have achieved an average of a Grade B across all our programmes, which is a credit to the students’ hard work, underpinned by the challenging and motivational environment of the school.”
Among those celebrating their results was Alex Bird, 18, a student from Ashton on Mersey school Sixth Form. Alex will go on to study Sport and Exercise Science after achieving D*D*D* in his BTEC Extended Diploma, D* in his BTEC Subsidiary Diploma Science and a B in A level Maths. We are immensely proud of Alex achieving 5 qualifications at this level. Alex was speechless when we asked him how he felt , the smile said it all though.
