The Sixth Form, in the three years it has been open, has made excellent progress. The results of the class of 2011 reflect the hardwork and application to Sixth Form studies that our staff and students have displayed. Attaining 95% A level pass rate and 100% BTEC success is a just reward for our 2011 cohort and has set the bar for our Sixth Formers in the future.

We believe that every student deserves an opportunity to reach his or her full potential. Our Sixth Form will build on the excellent foundations we have developed in Key Stage 3 and 4 by providing relevant, interesting and varied learning opportunities in preparation for higher education, apprenticeships and the world of work.

Ashton on Mersey School Sixth Form is highly successful and our specialisms in sport and vocational education are just two of the areas in which we excel. In the Sixth Form we offer a curriculum, which provides a blend of experiences to suit individual needs and aspirations, with pathways to incorporate A Levels and BTECs as well as a comprehensive enrichment programme.

Our practical facilities are the envy of many, there is a virtual learning environment which allows students to continue their studies at home to compliment the most advanced in-house ICT facilities. The learning resource centre, seminar rooms and social areas are fully equipped and have been designed with the independent student in mind.

Employers and higher education institutes demand a wide range of skills including teamwork, communication and leadership. Our Sixth Form prepares all students for the challenges associated with all post 18 career pathways.
